Responsabilities

  • Participate in defining the objectives of each test with the development teams and the user researchers;
  • With the help of the other researchers, design research protocols based on the objectives;
  • Participate in the recruitment and management of participants before and after each test;
  • Conduct the research studies, monitor the participants and collect any relevant notes on their behavior and reaction;
  • Participate in setting up the laboratory before and after each test;
  • From the observations, structured interviews & questionnaires during the test, write research results in a relevant and actionable way to help developers improve the quality of the game for the consumers.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Achieving a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Marketing, Marketing research, Information science or related field;
  • Open-minded, autonomous and resourceful;
  • Skills in writing presentations;
  • Able to identify clearly problems (in the games tested) and organize the information (by priorities, level of impact);
  • Analytical skills, especially when talking about video games;
  • Experience with research, or qualitative research techniques or user testing is a plus. If not, be passionate about it;
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Basic understanding of game development processes, a plus;
  • Analytical skills/critical mind when it comes to video games.

Duties

  • The Lead Artist will have a balance of artistic talent, technical knowledge and leadership skills.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to implement a strong artistic vision that will enhance the creative direction, story, and design of the game
  • Work along with studio directors, managers and producers to ensure the highest visual and artistic quality possible
  • Create art for the game itself, from concept to release
  • Support, inspire and coach artists and colleagues as needed, giving thoughtful direction and feedback
  • Help recruitment and onboarding of artists to staff the game teams
  • Support focus testing, and other consumer research groups with assets to help understand audience reactions to our products
  • Ensure that visual quality and tonality is understood by external partners (web teams, marketing departments, and outsourcing)

Experience & Qualifications

  • College or university diploma in 2D and 3D art, or equivalent education
  • 5 years’ experience as a Concept, 3D or Graphic Artist; Experience leading art direction on a project, big or small
  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge of written and spoken English

Technical Skills

  • Extensive experience in establishing art assets production pipeline for mobile platforms
  • Extensive knowledge of modeling techniques, texture mapping and materials
  • Extensive knowledge of animation and rigging
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of art, visual communication and design principles

Summary

As part of each project core team (along with the producer and creative director), the Brand Manager works collaboratively on the creation of innovative and high-quality games for mobile, either enriching existing franchises or establishing brand new video game IPs. Acting as the Brand guardian, he/she plays a pivotal role from early product development, in assessing and defining the brand identity, to long after the game is live, in driving the growth and shaping the future of the brand.

Responsabilities

  • Develop and execute global marketing plans designed to support successful product launches and build long-term brand loyalty:
  • Identify the game’s target audience, positioning, values, unique selling points and key messaging
  • Define the brand identity including title, key art, brand guidelines and supporting campaign assets
  • Manage the creation of promotional tools with internal artists and external creative agencies, ensuring high quality and timely delivery
  • Help define the communication strategy with the PR and Social Media/Community teams including events, communication channels and assets rollout plan
  • Work with media agencies to develop, strategize and optimize media plans from inception to completion
  • Prepare the relevant marketing documentation such as Brand plans and Post-Mortems, and communicate to all stakeholders
  • Establish constant dialogue with the development team to ensure alignment on the creative brand vision, marketing & business objectives and their implementation in the design of the games
  • Champion, evangelize and represent the brand both internally and externally with key business partners
  • Attend trade & consumer shows worldwide as required
  • Develop and share a broad understanding of market trends and best practices within the video game industry, and comprehensive knowledge of benchmark competitors across all genres and platforms
  • Conduct market researches, competitive benchmarks and consumer studies to inform the development of the game and effectiveness of associated promotional materials
  • Coordinate efforts with other brand teams within Square Enix Montréal and other Square Enix studios to find potential synergies and share best practices

Experience and qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in strategic and brand marketing in the consumer entertainment industry.
  • Experience in the video games industry is a strong asset.
  • Proven experience with revered brands. Having successfully established a new IP is a strong asset.
  • F2P/Live gaming experience is a plus, but not required.
  • BS/BA in Business, Marketing or Communication. MS/MBA preferred.

Summary

Be responsible for setting up, communicating & monitoring outsourcing mandates and the attainment of deliverables related to collaborations with internal & external partners as well as the optimization of processes and pipelines relating to outsourced assets and the asset database.

Responsabilities

  • Implement outsourcing mandates with partners, adequately communicate these mandates to the lead studios and partner teams, adapt the mandates whenever necessary and ensure compliance during production;
  • Oversee the preparations for the collaborations: mandate definition, technical setup, communication networks, training plan for the partner studios, site visits, etc;
  • Communicate effectively the project vision, the technical and artistic specifications of the mandate with the partners;
  • Obtain sign offs for the work carried out by partners at the end of each phase (iterative process);
  • Ensure that the partners teams have the support they require so production runs smoothly;
  • Identify, monitor and communicate risks, informing supervisors about relevant information about the mandates;
  • Ensure that culturally and geographically distant partners build trust relationships and feel part of a large and cohesive team.

Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical and artistic skills;
  • A technical problem solving mind-set is essential;

  • In depth knowledge of the video game industry and production processes, with a particular focus on object creation;
